After the launch of the 900 sport and street twins, BMW is set to launch the S1000 XR.
The beauty of a machine is now lighter and sharper then its predecessor. Looking at the design the bike is now meaner and seems to have lost its love handles, all the while looking magnificent to mention the least.
The BMW sport tourer at its heart has a litre capacity with all the aggressiveness derived from the RR and churns out 165PS of max power and 112Nm of peak torque. The mean machine combined with redesigned perfect ergonomics and an upright seating position will leave you wanting that tarmac to never end.
In terms of standard features the ABS, cornering ABS, 2 riding modes & dynamic traction Control, Drag torque control comes with the bike, BMW provides a long list of upgrades, adaptive cornering lights, key less ride, DTC Wheelie Function, Hill Start Control Pro, and BMW Motorrad Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), cruise control.
The bike will lock horns with the likes of the Ninja 1000, Duke 790, and its own sibling the XR 900. While the competition is not upto the mark with its beauty of an engine and tech, the company will have to keep its pricing under check to keep up in the market, as the expected price could be ranging over 16 lakhs.
