The race spec "Honda CBR400R" Launching soon in Japan

Honda has been busy launching the 2020 models of its iterations and bringing out the best it has. Now it comes down to its race spec 400cc power house the CBR400R.

The bike clearly has the design cues from its elder sibling, the CBR500R or CBR650R for that matter, but looks beautiful and marvelous for a 400cc bike and Honda has left no pages unturned to make sure it damn well looks that way. The bike is powered by a 399cc DOHC liquid-cooled, parallel-twin power plant that churns out 46ps @ 9,000rpm and 38Nm @ 7,500rpm of torque, matched to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The bike is loaded with a 17ltrs fuel tank which as per the official website claims to give a mileage of 41Kmpl (ridden at 60Kmph with a pillion), which would be a crowd puller. Of course the bike has been designed to get the eyes of the youngsters and it very well does the job. The tyres are 120/70 - 17 at the front and 160/60 - 17 at the rear. Anchoring is taken care by a single disc 320mm double calipers at front and a 240mm disc single caliper at the rear. Dual channel ABS will be standard but will the firm offer electronics package like traction control and others will have to be seen.

The bike boasts full LED lights, fully digital instrument panel. Other features that might be standard include the Dual channel ABS, adjustable levers, a dual exhaust and a slipper clutch.

The bike will currently launch in Japan on 31st of July 2020. The firm is yet to open up whether the bike will go out in the market to other countries. The bike will lock horns with the likes of the KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 400, If it ever makes to the Indian Market.

The CBR400R is available in three colours in Japan – Grand Prix Red, Matte Axis Gray Metallic and Pearl Glare White. It is priced at 7,93,800 Yen (Rs 5.16 lakh) in Japan.
