Aprilia RS 660 "The Super Compact RSV"!

Updated: Nov 16, 2019

Aprilia had teased the RS 660 in a video and turns out the growl of the lion was not a gimmick. The RS 660 was unveilied at the EICMA and man does it look fantastic.

The bike shares a lot of its characteristics with its race bred elder sibling and presumably ready to perform like one too. The engine is a 660cc parallel twin engine churning out 100 hp of power.

The engine is compactly sitting under the frame and seems to be a part of it, which was the master plan by the designers to make it as compact as possible, and it shows overall. So much so that the dry weight scales at just 169 Kgs.

Hence it is made clear that the bike will be a leader when it comes to power to weight ratio. The bike is equipped with all the electronic gadgetry required by Aprilia and would be class apart there too.

The RS 660 will come with the brand’s APRC electronics suite, which means IMU-powered traction control, wheelie control, and cornering ABS, along with an up/down quickshifter, cruise control, and switchable power modes.

The fairing design is also shaped to enhance rider comfort, with the main task being to pull hot air away from the rider, as well as helping to move air around the rider during high speeds.

While we are still to know when the bike would be launched here in India the pricing would be definitely be on a premium side, considering the overall package and of course the brand name....
