Updated: Nov 16, 2019

BMW yet again has amazed the world with its F 900 R, the dynamic roadster in the mid-size segment, their key into this segment is all about its stunning design and phenomenal performance. The body clues are clearly visible with its muscular front, the forward oriented lines combined with slim sporty tail section makes you go hula hoo with joy while riding this naked.

The F 900 R is housed by an increased displacement parallel twin 895 CC engine, churning out 105 bhp at 8500 rpm and 92 nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm. Supports a 6-speed gear box with quick-shifter both up and down (optional), with anti-hopping clutch (slipper clutch) to help with ease into the ride and stay more agile on the road.

The F 900 R also supports a 6.5-inch full color TFT display which supports Bluetooth connectivity and provides all the information that the rider asks for. In terms of standard features the ABS, cornering ABS, 2 riding modes & automatic stability control (traction Control) comes with the bike, BMW provides a long list of upgrades, adaptive cornering lights, key less ride, dynamic electronic suspension adjust, pro riding modes, Intelligent emergency call, ABS pro, cruise control.

The F 900 also comes as a younger sibling to the S 1000 XR with a slightly bigger tank than the R model and the same face as the bigger XR.

If we compare the F 900 R, the roadster is going to be a tough contender in the naked segment fight, against the KTM Duke 790 & the Triumph Street Triple rage. Coming to India the F 900 R must be really opt with its pricing, as the key to Indian market is more to do with their pricing strategies.
