Brand New Triumph Trident, A Triumphant Decision?

Triumph has been releasing all updated bikes for the new year and having made them Euro5 compliant. And when it came to performance, the firm made sure that the bike has been designed and tweaked to give the best without compromising with the power figures. This time around the firm took up a classic from the archives and decided to revive it with a modern twist. So looking into the History Triumph went back to the era when Triumph brought in the triple engine in the time when the twins were ruling the roost and hence unveiled the Trident in 1968. The bike then was released again in 1990 as a naked bike.

Turn the time back to present and a Triumphant decision of the firm has lead to revive the name again and Trident is reborn from the ashes and looks as beautiful as a Phoenix.

The machine has been redesigned for the streets and gives a perfect mixture of the retro classic and Street Triple which is clearly visible and we cannot take the eyes off the beauty of this design. The colours blended just right to give a paradigm of class with a modern twist that is droolworthy.

The Triumph Trident 660 is powered by a 660cc three-cylinder water-cooled 12-valve DOHC motor, which is derived from the legendary race tuned Daytona 675 and tweaked for the streets, that produces 81 PS of power @ 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of torque @ 6,250 rpm and 90% of this torque is available starting at 3,000 rpm.

The chassis is tubular steel, with a double-sided swingarm, although a single sided would have really knocked the competition off by the mere looks of it. Triumph claims that the Trident is the best handling machine in its class. The whole setup is suspended on 41mm upside down separate function forks (SFF) from Showa and a preload adjustable Showa monoshock at the rear. The Braking duties are handled by Nissin twin 310mm floating discs with two-piston sliding calipers on the front and a single 255mm disc with single-piston sliding caliper on the rear equipped with a dual channel ABS.

Coming to the electronics front the bike is equipped with all LED headlights, indicators, a TFT unit that has the control toggle at the switches on left that will have the control over the riding modes (Road and Rain), adjustable Traction control and ABS, The bike has My Triumph connectivity to be able to control the call (obviously), Music, Go-pro control using the turn by turn Navigation, etc.

The bike comes with a new designed Stainless steel exhaust system that generates the sweet music to ring in your ears. The retro classic designed tank that is 14 litres in capacity and the Triumph badge elegantly put-forth along with the name Trident set prominently. The bike will come with a range of accessories to clad with. The bike will come with a class leading service interval of 16,000 Kms along with a 2 year global unlimited mileage warranty.

The bike is due for launch in the early 2021 and will be making way to India as well. Hence the wait starts!!!
