In the third installment of the Ducati World Premiere 2021, the 2021 Supersport 950 was unveiled. It took 3years but the bike has got a makeover finally and it looks marvelous.
The bike gets full fairing that is now colored same and a new design which looks like gills. The design is such that as per the firm the hot air is thrown far from the legs of the rider, which is being channeled from the brackets up front along the headlights. The fairing is such that the red frame is shown clearly and it looks sporty to the core.
The fairing from upfront continues till the triple clamp and gives a classic collar design around the 4.3 inch TFT display. The engine of the bike remains the same at 937cc 11° V-Twin that churns out 110hp of power @ 9,000rpm and 93Nm of peak torque @ 6,500rpm. Ducati has introduced a new hydraulic control to the slipper wet clutch.
Now equipped with a six-axis IMU, the 2021 SuperSport’s electronic package includes Bosch’s cornering ABS and gains the upgraded EVO versions of Ducati’s traction control, wheelie control and quick shift. The SuperSport conitnues to offer three ride modes, Sport, Touring and Urban.
The chassis comes with a single-sided swingarm, trellis frame and the engine acting as a load-bearing element. The suspension is also unchanged, with the base model SuperSport 950 using a fully-adjustable 43 mm Marzocchi inverted fork and a preload and rebound damping adjustable Sachs rear shock. The S model gets a more premium package of a 48 mm inverted fork and rear shock from Öhlins, both offering full adjustability.
The dual Brembo M4-32 radially-mounted monoblock four-piston calipers with 320mm discs return as standard equipment for both SuperSport models, as do the 245 mm disc and two-piston caliper on the rear. The whole bike as complete ride on Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres with a 120/70 R17 at the front and 180/55 R17 at the rear.
This should be an interesting bike to witness "once it does make to India", quite obviously people would opt for the Supersport who look for a bike that is a Ducati and looks like a Panigale, but is not as aggressive as the beast itself!!!!!
